Chapter 4 - A Dream by littlecrow Chapter 4 - A Dream by littlecrow
Attention Odyssey Project mods! If you need this image in a larger size, please let me know! As I am selling prints, I have set it to not allow downloads of the large original image!

That night he dreamed of an ocean, somewhere far, far away. Something large and shapeless, sparkling like a star-covered sky, swam past and circled around him. Orbs of light blinked in and out of existence as a Voice echoed within his skull.

Please, We Must Help Mother.

Submission for the Odyssey II Project chapter 4. Another super fun chapter! I know that the chapter is trying to make the nature of the spawn ambiguous as to whether it is an ally or a foe, but I dunno. I wanted to draw a horrible monster fish. Besides, who's to say that just because it looks awful, means that it's a bad guy, you know? Wouldn't that be more unexpected to have to trust the scary sea monster because it's actually the pretty girl who is the dangerous one?

This took a million redraws to get just right. I am so damned sick of redrawing those damned little teeth!

Acrylic ink and a bit of tinkering with photoshop to add effects (the stars) and punch up some washed-out colors.

Chapter 4 - A Dream by *littlecrow

Odyssey Project / Clive Barker / Chapter 4 / Artwork ( Suggested by xthumbtakx and Featured by namenotrequired )
first of i really like thhe composition as a whole you've created a great sense of balance by creating the two opposing areas of color from dark teals and blues to light orange and yellow. The discreet galaxy above the man in anguish is also fantastic, one of my favorite parts actually. The expression and stance that the man is in suggests such despair and agony and the gaping mouth of doom of the fish/ghoul/beast work together so well and transmit the exact same kind of emotion. This is the most powerful part of the image for me because of how well the two images tie in together although they seem so different. Overall a very strong piece in sense of composition and the idea is wonderful as well, the message behind it is very evident and the fine detail of the monstrosity is also very well done.

This artwork is incredible, it really does show a nightmare.. all those teeth! The splatter effect really gives it grit.
