Just then, Paul's form began to shift. Sinew pulled itself to bone; blood pooled and seeped back into its rightful place. By the end, he looked every bit as he had been, save for one small difference – Paul was levitating a full foot off of the floor.
Submission for the Odyssey II Project chapter 7 (runner up).
Paul has been taken apart and put back together and I guess we're going to have the final showdown now.
So the project is winding down. In all of my illustrations, I've been trying to keep the same kind of themes and styles without doing anything too repetitive, and I've been trying to stay away from a literal interpretation of the writing and add my own perspective to the art. It's been neat to do painting again, and to challenge myself and try and do some themes that I don't often do in my work.
One last chapter to go, and we get extra long to work on it. Come on writers, you better give us something super fun to draw!
Beautiful work, as always. You are dominating this competition! And rightfully so. I feel very lucky to have been the wordsmith on this one.
Funny story: I was bumming around tumblr last week and came across this piece accidentally. It caught my eye because I just thought it was a really great piece of art on its own. Then I sort of chuckled to myself thinking that it would really fit the chapter I'd just written for this project. Imagine my surprise when I came back over here later and realized that it WAS a submission for that very thing! Hahaha.... anyways, I thought it was funny coincidence.
This is going to be gorgeous book when it's finished. Keep up the great work man, and good luck with this one!
Ah ha! That's the best story! I was really pleased to see it on tumblr too. Wow thanks for all the nice comments. It's the words that inspire me! Been a lot of fun working on this project.
Great work, as always. You created outstanding art and , more to the point, a unique style. I can imagine that you become famous with that style. No critiques, it's perfect !
