Hey wait, did I never ever upload this? This was... oh wow it seems so long ago, this was one of the last projects I did at college, in april I guess? ...a children's book cover for the story that I started here, a picture book about traveling all around the world at bedtime. I think it turned out quite well considering that I painted it in just one night, so far as I remember... The original is now hanging on my daughter's bedroom wall. Hm. I should do more stuff like this. What do you guys think?

Hey no seriously, what do you guys think? The problem with me has always been that there are so many different styles that I like to work in, and although I know what I like to do, I never really know what looks the best to other people. Sometimes it's surprising the things that people seem to really like, and the things that people seem to not care for... if anyone has been watching me for a while and has any comments to that effect, I'd love to hear it.

i love this, its so sweet and just lovely. how did you get that slightly speckle-y effect in the sky?

Thanks! The texture is purely an effect of the paper I used, a kind of chinese rice paper. I have a few other things in my gallery done on this paper, but this one turned out the best, I think. The only problem is that the paper is tricky to scan and requires a lot of adjustment to get it looking anywhere NEAR correct.
