3 week project, decided to redo a Pied Piper illustration I did two years ago.
Acrylic ink and pencil crayon on that lovely paper that I like. (it's called kanpei apparently) I've been getting a lot of positive feedback for the experiments I've been doing in this style, but it makes a couple of problems.....
It's really hard to get rich vibrant colors, and it is almost impossible to scan properly. The original is significantly less muddy, with nice deep blue lines and a nicer green.
Which isn't to say the original couldn't be much improved! I'm not sure, I'm going to need to experiment a bit more before I start making stuff that I'm completely comfortable with.
Talk about creative concepts! The original must've been something else, because this is kinda awesome as-is.

This is gorgeous! The lines on the hat are wonderful, the whole image is connected amazingly . ..
