Artist's Comments

***PLEASE DO NOT REPOST MY IMAGES.***
I'm flattered, and link back to me if you want, but never take them and repost them off this site, anywhere. I can't control where my art is going on the internet if people are copy and pasting my stuff where ever they feel like.

This is something from last semester that I forgot to upload. A single image from the Hans Christian Anderson story The Little Mermaid: the little mermaid is not old enough yet to visit the surface, so when her sisters go together, she is left behind.

This was my last experiment with that japanese paper I used last year. It looked really nice people always seemed to respond so well to it, but it was always a bit limiting in that you couldn't use pens on it, and, IT REALLY DOES NOT SCAN WELL AT ALL, and I'm too lazy/busy at the moment to learn how to properly photograph it. (AT THE MOMENT. Maybe someday.)

I had big plans for this one, but in the end had to rush and get it done. I kept screwing up with the painting and had to start over. What you see here is take number three. (well, take number three plus photoshopping to add effects not possible on the paper, and to attempt to correct the bad scan)

This is beautiful. And the original story is much more tragic.

great job, i love hans christian anderson's little mermaid, i've got a big book of his stories here, and it's one of my favourites. that and the seven swans, i think it's called. this is just amazing, the way the colours bleed just a little and her face is just perfect, wow. i really like it. (... sorry to ... uh, gush)

This is so beautiful. I feel a strong emotional weight from it. Tragic and beautiful!

Such a lovely rendition of the story! I'm in love with the giant reeds, I've always loved how she lets her garden get overgrown and just sulks in it^^ so sweetly gloomy.
Beautiful colors, too :) Great work.
